Alessandro spends his days hanging around with his friends. But his father is pressuring him to find work and in the end he reluctantly gives in. His job is to take Giorgio, an 85-year-old poet, out on walks. The old man is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, which is gradually robbing him of his mental clarity, although not his dignity and elegance. The encounters with Giorgio start to have an effect on Alessandro, without him and his friends becoming aware of it. Not even when they discover that Giorgio can lead them to a treasure, said to have been hidden in Tuscany by US soldiers at the end of World War II.
