Once a year, the picturesque village of Carrbridge in the Scottish Highlands hosts a unique event: the World Porridge Championship. Participants from all over the world prepare the traditional dish made from oats, water, and salt, competing for the legendary trophy, the “Golden Spurtle“. Director Constantine Costi follows the people behind the competition on their journey to the championship. With a generous dose of humor, he creates a warm and affectionate portrait of tradition, great passion, and the art of making something special out of simple things.

CONSTANTINE COSTI ist ein preisgekrönter griechisch-zyprisch-australischer Regisseur und Autor, der sowohl im Film- als auch im Opernbereich tätig ist. Sein Dokumentarfilm „The Golden Spurtle“ (2025) feierte Premiere beim CPH:DOX in Kopenhagen, „A Delicate Fire“ (2020) wurde beim Sydney Women’s Film Festival als bester australischer Spielfilm ausgezeichnet. Er ist Absolvent des National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) im Fach Regie und hat einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Kommunikationswissenschaften (Medienkunst und Produktion) an der University of Technology, Sydney, erlangt.
