Ever since Rémi was dumped, the eccentric artificial turf salesman has been wallowing in solitary companionship. He has since filled the void left by love with sex dolls that make no demands whatsoever. The only difficulty is introducing them to friends and family. The problem seems to be solved when Audrey, his current plastic partner, suddenly comes to life. Audrey is simply the perfect woman – at least on the outside. When it comes to everyday housewife life and dealing with in-laws, however, the former doll behaves in a manner that is anything but presentable. Rémi begins to doubt whether true love can really be tailored to his wishes. And hasn’t he long since fallen head over heels for his new colleague Patricia anyway?

SOPHIE BEAULIEU ist in Lyon und New York aufgewachsen. Sie studierte an der École Normale Supérieure und unterrichtete zunächst Englisch und Linguistik, widmete sich dann aber dem Schreiben und trat in einer trashig-feministischen Show auf. Sie realisierte eigene Kurzfilme, für die sie auch das Drehbuch schrieb, bis ihre Kurzfilme „I Didn’t Shoot Jesse James“ und „Salem“ auf internationalen Festivals gezeigt wurden. „Frühstück bei Audrey“ ist ihr Spielfilmdebüt.
