A crazy referendum throws Switzerland into a state of emergency. By accepting the „No Bilangue“ initiative, there will now only be one national language: French. Many German-speaking Swiss are in crisis because of this. Walter Egli (56), who works for the federal police and is responsible for ensuring that the transition to monolingualism proceeds smoothly, is among them. Despite barely speaking French himself, he is tasked with traveling to Ticino with a French-speaking partner to uncover a Ticino resistance group that is vehemently opposed to monolingualism. PETER LUISI (*1975 in der Schweiz) studierte Film an der University of California, Santa Cruz. Sein erster Spielfilm „Verflixt verliebt“ (2004) gewann den Zürcher Filmpreis und wurde auf dem Max-Ophüls-Filmfestival ausgezeichnet. Er war Co-Autor von „Vitus“ (2006), der ein Kassenerfolg war und auf der Shortlist für einen Oscar stand. Seine Filme „Der Sandmann“ (2011) und „Schweizer Helden“ (2014) gewannen zahlreiche Preise, darunter den Publikumspreis beim Filmfestival Locarno. „Flitzer“ (2017) war ein kommerzieller Erfolg und wurde in über 50 Territorien verkauft. „Bon Schuur Ticino“ hatte im Herbst 2023 einen fulminanten Schweizer Kinostart.
